Coach to Improve Teaching
This session is open to practitioners from all grade levels and content areas, including returning participants. We strongly encourage participants to attend with colleagues who can help them transfer the work to their particular contexts. Many participants value the opportunity to collaborate with a site- or district-based team (e.g. a principal and a coach from the same school, or a group of district literacy coaches and their supervisor). All individuals are welcome, regardless of experience.
Program Outcomes
Participants will:
- Discuss what research reveals about how people learn
- Learn about models of coaching practice and deepen coaching conversations
- Analyze assessment data to inform teaching decisions
- Describe the role of school and district leaders in supporting the work of coaching
- Create professional development implications for improving student learning at your site
Program Design
During this two-day interactive session, participants will:
- Analyze videos of both teaching and coaching practice
- Examine coaching artifacts
- Collaborate and learn with partners and groups
- Read and discuss professional texts and resources

Refund requests for online courses must be received no more than 7 calendar days after the date of enrollment in the course. A full refund will be made for all requests received within this time period. No refund will be made for requests received more than 7 calendar days after enrollment.
Refund requests for programs or workshops with in-person attendance must be received at least one month before the program start date. A full refund will be made for requests received within this time period. Requests received less than one month, but more than 14 calendar days, before the program start date will be subject to a $50 service fee. No refund will be made for requests received 14 or fewer calendar days before the program start date.
