The craft of teaching is sophisticated and complex. It’s for this reason that viewing classroom instruction as part of a professional development initiative is so powerful. To support this learning, CEL is now offering videos depicting authentic classroom instruction.
CEL videos are designed to help viewers analyze instruction using the research-based 5 Dimensions of Teaching and Learning (5D) Instructional Framework. Each classroom instruction video is accompanied by guiding questions relating to one dimension of focus to assist viewer’s facilitation and conversation. In addition, most video footage includes a pre-lesson conversation and a lesson debrief with an instructional leadership coach. We hope this experience will provide an intentional focus and support to your district and school’s instructional work.
