You are notified that by using this website, k-12leadership.org, the University of Washington (UW) is collecting certain data about you. The UW Center for Educational Leadership is collecting data in order to provide the information you requested from us, to improve and personalize experiences with this website and UW communications, and to administer your account.
UW may also use this data to comply with its legal obligations. Data records will be maintained for at least their minimum required retention according to the applicable UW Records Retention Schedule(s):

MILE Assessment Privacy Statement

Your privacy is important to us. We have created this MILE Assessment Privacy Statement, which supplements the University of Washington’s Privacy Policy, in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. This document discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for users of the MILE Assessment “Service.” Only under unusual circumstances will information be revealed in violation of the policy. Release of confidential information would take place to comply with any legal process, protect or defend the University of Washington or other individuals or organizations involved with this project (including protecting the property of said parties), or to enforce University of Washington policies. Be aware that UW is an agency of the state of Washington and as such has obligations to maintain public records under RCW 42.56 et seq., which potentially requires us to provide website records if requested by anyone through the proper legal disclosure might also occur by a break-in to the site’s computers, either physical or electronic, and/or a UW employee, UW student, or other contractual partner who violates UW privacy rules.

EXPLANATION OF TYPE OF INFORMATION COLLECTED

Personal or Demographic Information: This notice applies to all information collected by or submitted to this website as part of the MILE Assessment process.
The personal information we request will be used to assess professional development and training as part of the MILE Assessment process and materials as developed and provided by the University of Washington Center for Educational Leadership (CEL) to school districts under the terms of a separate license agreement. Personal information or user feedback regarding the MILE Assessment process and website may not be made available forever. The personal data will never be given to any third parties, unless required of us by law. The personal information we request may include an email address. The demographic information we collect or request will only be used as anonymous data for research purposes. It may be provided to third parties as anonymous research data as well, but will never be provided along with personal information that would allow you to be identified. The demographic information we collect or request may include these items: school districts; years of experience as a teacher and/or as an administrator; grade levels taught; hours in the classroom (other than your own); self-assessment as instructional leader; levels of certification; training and learning activities in which you have participated; feedback and opinions or surveys about the MILE Assessment website usability and content.

SYSTEM LOGS

We work with our service provider to use certain information from system logs. The service provider collects the following information about your use of the Database: browser type, type of connection (dial-up, T-1 license, etc.) and IP address. Such data is used to improve the user experience and future information products.
